I love to read. There is not a week that goes by that we don’t go to the library to check out a stack (yes, sometimes it is a stack) of books. And I have read some really good books…some bad ones too, and some major fails, but I’m not talking about those.

So, I had this idea…why not share my love of books and some of the best ones I have read with you?

Every other Thursday I will do a book review/suggestion. And I hope you will find your next can’t-put-down book here!!

Two months ago, I discovered a new Christian author, Jamie Jo Wright, and after reading just one of her books, she immediately became a favorite author.

She lives in Wisconsin and bases her books in the North-Western part of the state and her books are just so amazing.

The first book I read of hers was…

Genre: Historical Fiction, Mystery, Suspense.

Location: Wisconsin

Time Era: Present Day and 1908

Now, don’t let the title or the cover discourage you. Don’t judge too quick. If you love a book full of surprises, intrigue, suspense, and history, then you will love this one.

This novel follows two women in search of answers to their past. Their search will bring them to the most unexpected result.

The present-day character, Heidi receives a mysterious letter from her mother seeking her help, she then travels home to Pleasant Valley Wisconsin where she soon learns nothing is as it seems.

Thea is the past character and she is searching for answers about her mother and her past which she knew nothing about. She soon becomes entangled in a mystery in both the people and a mysterious structure on the edge of 1908 Pleasant Valley.

I will give you a bit of a warning, if you read at night, don’t read this one, it is a daytime book.

It is an intricately woven story full of deception, hurt, forgiveness, love, and redemption.

One interesting item about the author that she carefully and respectfully brings her readers into the world of special needs.

She really shines a light on subjects seldom discussed or explored and brings dignity where scorn and ridicule often are the first thought.

I could not put the book down from the moment I picked it up. And I hope you might enjoy it as well.

Here is the amazon link again if you would like to learn more about the book or read it!!
