The Random Post

Greetings and Salutations!

Today’s post is something fun and different, like last week’s Pickle Ice Cream post.

It is a random post! These are so much fun because they cover so many different topics!

So, I will be talking about four different topics today…fun right?

Yeah, I know I use that gif a lot, it is just so perfect!

Ok, moving on

Rainy-days, something I both love and loath at the same time.

I do love rainy days, especially in the summer, when I have the windows open and I can hear and smell the rain. It feels cozy and makes me feel happy.

And the best thing to do on those rainy days is to open a book, journal, turn on some music and enjoy the moment.

Now, for me, there are three different types of music I like to listen to on a rainy day.

First is the rain. I don’t want any music; it is enough to just sit and listen to the music of the rain.

For the first 8 years of my life, we lived in Oregon, and if you know anything about Oregon is that it rains, almost every day. There are two seasons, rain or no rain.

And my mom taught me to love the rain by telling me it was music, and I still believe that. Each drop that comes down creates a different melody, you just need to sit still and listen to it.

But, if I do want music on a rainy day, the first playlist I like to listen to is something quiet and low-key.

Something that compliments rain. Now, my playlist has over 30 songs in it for these categories, so this is just the top songs from the playlists.

The second type of music goes along with why I loathe rainy days sometimes. When it is raining, it is gloomy outside, and sad looking.

Not a day for getting stuff done, it’s hard to focus, that’s when I pull out the upbeat playlist!

Plus, I have my go-to albums that are good for either situation.

Simply piano and violin music
A classic by Michael W. Smith
One voice, amazing songs
My all-time favorite music artists

As you may have figured out, I listen to a wide variety of music, I just love music.

Switching gears!

A common question for bloggers and writers alike is:

Up until a year ago, the words ‘inspiration’ or ‘inspire’ meant nothing to me, it was just a word posted on shirts and phone wallpapers. Now it means everything to me, and I even have a shirt with the word ‘Inspire’ on it.

Only because I loved the colors on the shirt…anyway!

Without inspiration, a writer cannot write, so where do I find inspiration? That’s a difficult question because for me there is no one answer. Each of my blog posts was inspired by something different.

Inspiration comes to me in many different ways, it comes in the form of music or lyrics, a feeling or emotion, an event, a Bible verse, or something I read or see.

I never know where or when inspiration will strike, but when it does, I better have something to write it down with, because I am not going to remember it!

On to the next topic!

Oh yeah, we all have pet peeves. Something that makes us go crazy or irritated beyond the normal scale of emotion.

I don’t have a lot of pet peeves. But some things really annoy me, like my Dad eating raw baby carrots, the noise! Or walking behind a slow-moving person at the store…

but really, I have two major pet peeves.

The first is texting grammar. When someone says ‘k’ instead of ok, or 2 for to, thx for thank you, or cuz for because.

Like, really? Does it hurt your finger or thumb to text those extra letters? And you wonder why auto-correct messes up what you were typing. It was doing its best, but then it gave up trying to decipher what you were trying to spell.

My other pet peeve is being interrupted. First off it’s just rude, and second of all, did you not hear me talking? My Dad does this one often, I will be talking to Mom and Dad will just pop-up from the computer and just start talking.

Like really? Just wait until I’m done talking, and then you can tell us the latest stock market numbers.

Those are my two major ones, I also really, really don’t like motorcycles and the unnecessary noise they make. I just don’t like it!

And last but not least…

Some of my favorite things tend to change over time, while some will always stay the same. Like my favorite colors and sloths!

Right now, some of the things that are making me happy are…

I hope you enjoyed this random post, it was fun to write. If you did like it, let me know and maybe I’ll do it again!

Or if you love music, maybe I’ll include some more of my favorite albums!
