Gratitude Journaling

Journal Prompt – Write about three things you’re grateful for

Good morning all!

It is the first journaling prompt!

I’ve been journaling for years, though I have not been consistent at it, I have found it to be rewarding and fun.

There are a lot of different styles of journaling, such as; daily entries, prayer, and gratitude journaling.

I’ve found gratitude journaling to be challenging, in a good way. Because it makes you look for the positive and good in each day or week.

Sometimes it’s easy to see the good that has happened, and other times we have to look hard.

And I hope the journaling prompts and my replies will encourage you to see the good in each week and help you think more gratefully.

So, here we go!

1. Well, first off, I’m writing outside, so I am super thankful for a nice warm day. Living in Wisconsin, we don’t really get spring. It will be nice for one day and then go back down to the 50s and 40s with rain, or worse, snow. So, we enjoy the nice days while we have them.

2. I am thankful for technology. Thanks to the world of tech, we’ve been able to keep in touch with family and friends. My two friends, and I have sent over 685 emails in the past two months. While not being able to see family and friends stinks, I am so thankful for emails, Facetime, zoom, and phones.

3. We are living in a crazy mixed-up world right now, but amid everything, there are still miracles and joys happening.

Today another life was brought into the world, my nephew!! We are so excited and happy for another addition to our family. My three-hour old nephew is just another example of God’s awesome capability. Psalm 139:12-13 says:

13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works.

My nephew was fearfully and wonderfully made, and I am so thankful for him and my amazing God.

I hope today’s first journal prompt will spark something and inspire you to look for the good each day.
