New List of Favorite Kids Books!
Let’s start off with a classic
The Very Hungry Caterpillar (Amazon Link)
The caterpillar comes out of his egg very hungry and proceeds to “eat” his way through the book and foods until the very end when he becomes a beautiful butterfly.
This is a super cute and very read book when we have the kiddos over.
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (Amazon Link)
If there is a book that has been read through the generations of my family, this would be it. My mom read this book to my brothers, me, and now to the next generation of my nieces and nephews.
When all the letters of the alphabet race one another up the coconut tree, will there be enough room? Or will there be a huge, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom?
Corduroy (Amazon Link)
This is another book that has been read through the generations and is still a favorite of mine.
Corduroy is a teddy bear waiting on a department store shelf, and a little girl wishes to buy him, but he is missing a button. So Corduroy travels and searches the department store for a button, but what he will find will be more than he ever dreamed of.
If there was a book that I read over and over, it would be this one.
Alexander, and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (Amazon Link)
Alexander knew it was going to be a terrible day when he woke up with gum in this hair.
And it got worse…Alexander goes on to have a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. This is a very funny book, about a kid named Alexander and his very bad day…but some days are like that, and it’s ok to have a bad day once in a while. And no matter what, there is always tomorrow.
We started with a classic, let’s end with a classic series.
If you Give a Mouse a Cookie (Amazon Link)
If you Give a Moose a Muffin (Amazon Link)
If you Give a Pig a Pancake (Amazon Link)
If you give a Dog a Donut (Amazon Link)
If you give a Cat a Cupcake (Amazon Link)
These books are classics! I love these books!
If you give a pig a pancake is about a pig…who…well, wants a pancake. And if you give a pig a pancake, she’ll want some syrup to go with it. You’ll give her some of your favorite maple syrup, and she’ll probably get all sticky, so she’ll want to take a bath. She’ll ask you for some bubbles. When you give her the bubbles… and on it goes!!
Until it all comes back around to wanting another pancake.
The other books follow the same theme of one thing turning into another, and soon you will be taken on an adventure that all started with a pancake, muffin, donut, or cupcake.
Enjoy this round of favorite Kids books!!
