Kids Books

The past two weeks I have had my niece and nephew visiting, and I have discovered they have their favorite books, ones that they love reading over and over again.

So, all of these kids’ books are approved by my kiddos…and these are some of their favorites.

Prairie Days (Amazon Link)

My Mom just bought this book, it is written by the same person who wrote the famous series of Sarah, Plain, and Tall.

Patricia MacLachlan brings to life on colorful pages life growing up in the prairie. This book is told from a narrator’s perspective, one who grew up on a farm and reflects on how life was as a child during that time.

The illustrations are amazing and it is a fun, easy read.

The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear (Amazon Link)

This book has been read to my older brothers, to me, and now it is read to the next generation.

The little mouse just found a red, ripe strawberry…but near in the woods, is a big hungry bear who loves, red, ripe strawberries.

How will Little Mouse stop the bear from eating his freshly picked, red, ripe strawberry?
This book is pretty unique in the way that it is read as if you were talking to the mouse. So, it makes the reader a part of the book.

Peter Rabbit Board Book (Amazon Link)

Peter Rabbit Classic Book (Amazon Link)

Talk about a much-loved classic! My niece and nephew love Peter rabbit. Beatrix Potter is an amazing author and artist, and it is an absolute favorite in our house.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (Amazon Link)

This is another book that has been read in our family for years. And I can tell you right now, the modern adaptions of this book do not come even close.

This book is a classic and one we will never choose any modern adaption over.

Ending with a series of books that are without a doubt, a new favorite of my niece and nephew.

The Berenstain Bears have been around for years, but are still very good books.

Each book covers a problem or something that Brother and Sister Bear face, and it usually something kids’ reading the book can relate to. The problem is then solved with the love and care of Mama and Papa Bear.

Some of the favorites in our house are.
